Windows Vista, XP perform silent updates, without permission

Category: Computers

I am a person who leaves their computer on all the time, I constantly am on, and I leave relevant windows and folders open all the time. Now one thing I hate is having windows update, and restart my computer and wake up in the morning and wake up with all my stuff closed. Or worse yet, be in a full screen game, and have the computer restart in the middle of a level. So I decided that I would turn off automatic updates, and be done with it? Right wrong. Last week I got my updates, how is this possible? Isnt this sneaky? Borderline illegal? It sure is! Microsoft has been updating peoples computers without their permission. Proof on their technet blog, here.
If you want to find out how to disable silent updates completely, check it out on windows secrets, here.
